While we can't quantify what your help in promoting an author's book means, to us your help is invaluable. And we appreciate all the hard work and effort you put into being a stop on one of our tours.
But as tour organizers we have encountered our fair share of missed or late stops, posts back-dated weeks following the end of tour yet not there on tour date, which leaves an empty spot on the tour. We understand that life happens and that it's not always possible to notify the tour host if you're unable to post your stop. We understand that schedulers fail, web hosts get taken down and posts get eaten.
So what we'll be asking of all of our hosts who are participating on one of our tours is the following:
- If you do not have your post up by 1 p.m. Eastern/10 a.m. Pacific and have not responded to your outreach by email or twitter - we reserve the right to post your interview or guest post on Rockstar Book Tours website, crediting you for the interview questions or guest post topic. If you are able to post your stop later in the day or on a future date, we will remove the post once yours goes live and add you back to the schedule.
- If your post is not up by the times listed above and you have not responded to our outreach AND your stop is an author's post topic or excerpt - we reserve the right to choose another host to replace you on the tour for that date.
- If your post is not up by the times listed above and you have not responded to our outreach and your stop is a review - we reserve the right to post a spotlight on Rockstar Book Tours website on your stop date. If you are able to post your review later in the day or on a future date we will add you back to the schedule.
When an author takes the time to complete a guest post or interview we think it's only fair that their efforts aren't wasted. We will give credit if the topics or questions were written by you, but if the author came up with the post topic or provided an excerpt no credit will be given.
While we will not be doing this in every instance, we want to reserve the right to do so if the situation arises. We will make every effort to contact you and to wait a reasonable time for your response. But if we see an "on hiatus" notice on your site, see that you have disappeared from the blogosphere and on social media and have not responded to our email or tweet within an hour, we will reassign your post, as stated above.
All other rules have not changed:
- Your post must be up by 8 a.m. Eastern.
- Your post must be the top post for the day unless you have a site that allows for the display of multiple posts (no scrolling).
- If you are scheduled for a review your review can be no fewer than four stars.
Repeat violations will result in being excluded from future tour opportunities.
Thank you all so much for your understanding. And those who do not agree to our new terms are free to unsubscribe as hosts.
